You may have heard stories like this: on your first day, you receive your laptop and phone, and that’s it. From the next day, you’re expected to perform without knowing who to ask or where to start. It’s a typical “startup scenario.” But Synspective is different.

We’ve designed a structured, thoughtful onboarding program to ensure our diverse team members from around the world feel confident and ready to take on challenges from day one. Even as a fast-paced startup, Synspective provides an environment where every new joiner immediately feels, “I’m part of the team.”

The Goals of Onboarding

Synspective’s onboarding program has two clear goals:

– Every new member should feel truly welcomed.
– Within the first three months, each person should be able to work autonomously and perform at 100% of their expected capacity.

At Synspective, we value an environment where those who take on challenges are rewarded. That’s why onboarding is not just a process; it’s the starting line for growth and new challenges. Our HR team continuously refines the program based on feedback from new hires, and it has earned praise across the company.

The Structure of the Onboarding Program

Our onboarding is conducted in both Japanese and English to reflect our international environment, where nearly half of our employees come from outside Japan. The program is designed so that everyone can participate comfortably, regardless of language or cultural background.

Day 1:
The morning begins with IT setup: receiving your PC, configuring accounts, and getting ready to work. At lunchtime, we host a Welcome Lunch, offering a relaxed setting to connect with HR members and teammates. In the afternoon, you’ll receive an overview of HR and labor-related matters, meet your team, and have a casual talk with one of our board members. This casual discussion provides a direct opportunity to learn about Synspective’s vision and future direction.

From Day 2 Onward:
You’ll have short online sessions with HR covering topics such as our evaluation system, company culture, and strategic goals. These sessions help you understand Synspective’s mission and values, and reflect on how to align your personal growth with them. You can also raise questions or discuss challenges at any time during these sessions.

Buddy System: A Culture of “Never Alone”

Every new hire is paired with a Buddy, a support member from a different team who helps you adapt smoothly to your new environment.
This system serves two primary purposes:

– To provide a friendly go-to person for casual questions and guidance.
– To encourage cross-departmental communication and help expand your internal network.

At Synspective, cross-functional collaboration is part of everyday life. Through the Buddy system, new members naturally build relationships across the company early on, fostering fast and effective teamwork.

Cabral Matching Program: Creating Serendipitous Connections

With many members working remotely, spontaneous conversations can be rare. Our Cabral Matching Program addresses this by pairing members randomly once a month for casual chats, either online or in person. You can talk about work, hobbies, or anything else. These informal meetings often spark new ideas, collaborations, and friendships that go beyond departments and nationalities.

HR Follow-up and Continuous Support

One month after joining, HR conducts a 1-on-1 follow-up session to discuss how you’re adjusting, identify challenges, and explore ways to improve your work environment. Another follow-up is held three months after joining, ensuring each employee continues to grow and feel supported in our fast-moving startup culture.

At Synspective, our mission is To create a new infrastructure that enables the next generation to understand our Earth and achieve a resilient future.Through satellite data and analytical technology, we aim to generate new value for the world. Our onboarding program is the gateway to that culture, a place where you can start your journey with confidence. From day one, the HR team is fully committed to helping you make a rocket start at Synspective.
